The Land and its Stories
Visit Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn to learn about community land ownership, sharing their struggles and successes of almost 20 years of the land being in the community’s hands. Clients will also take a visit to the meaningful, award winning monument, na Dorsan to learn all about its significance.
The Hearth of History
Visit the oldest historical society in the Western Isles to learn about the history and culture of our islands, you can also add in a personal guided tour, a delicious Hebridean Lunch, artefact handling or croft family history. Throughout your visit you will hear, and learn, some Scottish Gaelic. Thigibh ann! Come along!
Comunn Eachdraidh Nis
Steeped in local history and cultural traditions, North Lewis offers visitors an intriguing insight into life in the past, as well as how these traditions are incorporated into life today. Visit Comunn Eachdraidh Nis, the oldest historical society in the Western Isles and home to charming and important artefacts and stories of the past.
