An Tràigh Mhòr (Tolsta Beach)

Tràigh Mhòr is just around the headland from Traigh Gearradha and is one of the most impressive beaches in Lewis. It faces northeast across the Minch - the channel between Lewis and the mainland and on a clear day you can see the hills of Sutherland on the mainland.

The beach is around a mile long and there are often powerful waves hitting the beach which makes for dramatic viewing. 

The beach is great spot for an exhilarating walk and is popular with surfers.
